Year Four have gone on a Network Hunt! A computer network is a collection of computer systems and other devices connected together to ‘talk’ to each other by exchanging data.
In this lesson we learnt about the devices connected to our school network. We found out that our network is made up of a server (a computer which provides services to a network) and clients (computers which use the services on the network).
We also found out about about other devices on the network, such as a switch and wifi points which enable computers to communicate.
We walked around the school, spotting devices and matching them up to our cards! Our network expert was Mr Bushby, we gave him a big thank you at the end of our lesson.
Lesson objectives:
I can name devices on a computer network
I can explain the purpose of certain devices on a computer network
