Computing on placement
Unfortunately, I was not able to teach any specific computing lessons due to timetabling constraints. However, whilst on GPP I was able to use various aspects of the computing curriculum in other lessons, and was also involved in the children's use of ICT more generally.

interactive Whiteboards
I have used the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) a great deal while on placement and in class. The technology is invaluable throughout the school day for lessons, timetables and displays. I have found it especially useful to display instructions on the IWB, saving my voice!
Click on the image I used on the IWB to hear the sounds of the Siege!
(See my blog post for more details)

iPads
The children have in their class a set of iPads; these have been used in English, science and computing so far. Children have experimented with various apps including BeeBot, Sock Puppets, and I Can Animate.

Purple Mash software
During GPP, I used Purple Mash with my class to create bar charts in science. I also used the "2 Simple 2 Paint" software so the children could make and print their own Christmas cards.

activotes
The children each have their own Activote, or 'Pod', which they use for their morning work. They can answer maths questions or vote in an interactive quiz, then the whole class can see the results together.

bee bot
My class had a great time progamming Bee-Bot- see blog post for details!
